This post is opened exclusively to PEOPLE WITH THE DUTCH NATIONALITY, who have a maximum age of 32 years as of 31 December of the year of application.

Candidates should have a Master’s or equivalent in one of the following fields: civil or water engineering, sanitary engineering, public health or another relevant technical field. Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience is required.

In exceptional cases, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience can be considered.

Summary job description: key functions/accountabilities

The WASH Officer (JPO) provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme.

Under direct supervision of the WASH Manager, the JPO will be responsible for technical and operational support in relation to the following key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Programme development and planning
  2. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
  3. Technical and operational support for programme implementation
  4. Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response
